Paving work was suspended Thursday, September 5 through September 9 along Don MacKay Blvd. According to Simmons Construction the suspension of work was due to several factors; notably the arrival of a BTC work crew which intended to bury a conduit under a section of freshly laid asphalt.

Simmons Construction accommodated the crew by indicating the best possible area to bury the conduit. The location would be the easiest, according to Simmons Construction, to repair.

The BTC conduit that was installed is set to service the new airport control tower.

Another cause of the delay was a shipment of aggregate being late. The shipment is expected later in the week and is necessary to complete the paving of Don Mackay Blvd to south of SC Bootle Highway.

In the absence of the aggregate work will continue on the roundabout and preparatory work will be done along Don MacKay.
