Rotary Club continues Owanta’s Pond beautification

On September 22, working between two thunderstorms, phase two of the beautification and repair of the gazebo and bridge over Owanta’s Pond took place. The Rotary Club of Abaco replaced missing shingles from the roof, a missing spindle from the front railing and prepped the wood for painting.

The property was again cleaned of trash, bushes pruned, grass raked and three truck-loads of debris were hauled to the dump.

Phase three, scheduled for October 6, will see members of two Interact Clubs from St. Francis de Sales Catholic School and Forest Heights Academy paint the gazebo so that everyone can enjoy the natural beauty that is Owanta’s Pond.
