Angels Academy Board of Advisors meets to discuss future of school

On September 24 the Board of Advisors for Angels Academy, a private kindergarten and elementary school located in Marsh Harbour, held its first meeting. Chairperson, and owner of the school, Michelle Roark welcomed and thanked those present who took time out to be present and contribute to the further success of Angels Academy.

Ms. Roark laid out the plans for growth of the school which included the drive to enroll more students, especially in the Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten levels. A focus, Ms. Roark said, in advertising to parents would be being up-front and transparent with any fees the school charges.

The meeting then focused on fundraising activities. Mention was made of successful past fund raisers, such as the Halloween fair, which is coming up again this year on October 27, and the Wine and Cheese Tasting Party. A big drive of fundraising this year will be towards furnishing the computer lab and acquiring playground equipment.

The Chairperson also set a goal for the school. She wants to purchase land for the school within two years and to have a new building on the land within five years. The board members agreed this was an attainable goal.
